The PrestaShop 1.5 Release Candidate is available for download. That's right, its here! Go grab it today!

If like me you were disappointed by the release originally being postponed, and have a number of projects and clients awaiting this release, you'll be delighted to hear the wait is over.

While it's not recommended to upgrade your live stores, the PrestaShop 1.5 RC1 release allows you to start developing modules and themes with confidence ahead of a final release which should arrive shortly..

Its is also a great chance to check out all of PrestaShop 1.5's new features for yourself, if you haven't already such as the new back office design and the ability to place orders manually from the back office.

If you're still not convinced, take a look at this video of PrestaShop's Community Manager Mike Kranzler answering some frequently asked questions regarding the release.

Mike is very active in the forums, so If you still have any questions, head over to the official PrestaShop 1.5 development forum where Mike or one of the many community memebers should be able to answer them for you.

Ready to give a try? You can download PrestaShop 1.5 RC1 from the Development Versions page of the PrestaShop website.

Remember, its not recommended to use this release for your live store. If you'd like to test your current store with PrestaShop 1.5, do this locally or on a development server, not on your live website.

Additionally, with the imminent PrestaShop 1.5 release, I've restarted the PrestaShop Theme Boilerplate project which seems to have a lot of support from the community. If you have any suggestions or ideas please post them in the thread on the forums.
