PrestaShop Algolia Module

This module integrates the Algolia search service into PrestaShop, replacing the built-in search engine with a high-performance alternative designed for stores with large product catalogs. It addresses a common pain point where native PrestaShop search slows significantly as catalog size grows, by offloading all search and, optionally, category rendering to Algolia's external infrastructure.

• Instant search: Results appear as soon as the first character is typed, regardless of which page the visitor is on — homepage, product page, or category.
• Comprehensive product indexing: Index feature values, attributes, reference numbers, and other product data fields, with configurable ranking rules including total sales and total pageviews.
• Category pages powered by Algolia: Category rendering can be moved entirely to Algolia, replacing PrestaShop's layered navigation with Algolia's facets for faster filtering.
• Search landing pages: Create custom pages based on search queries, each with editable metadata for SEO purposes.
• Built-in cron indexing: Automatically re-indexes products on a schedule to keep stock, pricing, and product data current without manual intervention.
• CDN compatibility and reduced server load: Works alongside CDN setups out of the box; since Algolia handles search and category queries externally, server load is reduced.

This module is aimed at merchants running large catalogs — the vendor notes use cases with over 100,000 products — where native search performance is inadequate. It requires an active paid Algolia account and should be tested on a development site before deployment to production. Template integrations are included for the default bootstrap theme, Warehouse, and Transformer themes.
