Sort By Trending

Sort By Trending is a free PrestaShop module that automatically reorders product listings based on a calculated trending grade, helping store owners surface their most relevant products first. Rather than relying on the fixed default sort order set in the back office, this module dynamically ranks products using a composite score derived from sales, ratings, downloads, and manually assigned priority — ensuring shoppers encounter the items most likely to convert.

• Trending grade calculation: Each product receives a score based on four configurable factors — sale factor, rating factor, download factor, and priority factor. Store owners can adjust the weight assigned to each factor to align the ranking algorithm with their sales strategy.
• Configurable trending period: Administrators can define the time window used when gathering data for trending grade calculations, allowing the ranking to reflect recent activity rather than all-time performance.
• Automatic recalculation via cronjob: Trending grades are updated automatically using a cronjob, keeping product order current without manual intervention.
• Manual drag-and-drop ordering: Store owners can override the automated ranking by manually dragging and dropping products on the listing page to fine-tune display order.
• Multi-store support: The module is compatible with PrestaShop's multi-store mode.

This module is well suited for store owners with large catalogues who want to automatically highlight best-selling or highly rated products without maintaining a manual sort order. Note that rating-based scoring requires the PrestaShop Product Comments module or a compatible third-party rating module to be installed.
